A list post:
I have been stalking Target for two weeks waiting for the toys to go from 30% off to 75% off. I called yesterday and they were still at 30. I called this afternoon and learned they were at 75. I went before dinner and they were completely wiped out! I ran into a friend there who told me that she knew a group of people who were going to Target every morning after they dropped off their kids at school to check on the clearance. So there ARE people who are crazier than me! I got a few things for future birthday gifts, but nothing real exciting.
I am into making homemade fries lately. I have done sweet potato and regular and they are awesome if you get all the little steps right, like cutting them the right size, getting the seasonings right, and cooking them the right length of time. When all that falls into place they are delish! Last night I had a huge craving for hamburgers and fries and Nate didn't want to grill outside so we made them on the stove and our house still reeks.
On a related note, I got two of those hideous air freshener systems for free in a coupon deal last week and I had to pull one of those babies out to help get rid of the hamburger stink.
In big kid news, Sasha has taken a nap every single day this week. She has had absolutely no interest in playing in her room, she just hops into bed, reads a book and goes to sleep. She has even been sleeping through the light turning on in her room which lets her know when she can come out.
In little kid news, Alexis has been subject to my constant cornrow practicing all week. I am getting the hang of it by practicing obsessively every day. Alexis doesn't mind too much because I let her sit there and eat graham crackers. Oh, I also need to add that she likes to say "love you!" to us when we say it to her first.
I found a new website, Say Mmmmm, that I am using to help me plan meals a little better. The site is kind of fun and while it certainly isn't rocket science, it is a nice little way to organize. I have found though that even though I like to have several meals planned for the week, I can pretty much count on the fact that when the time comes to make one or two of them, I won't be in the mood to eat what I planned. That's where the hamburgers and homemade fries come in!
I also began subscribing to $5 dinners for some frugal food inspiration. (Where one of the homemade fry recipes came from).
Tomorrow night is a girls night out with two of my faves, Erin and Kimberly! And Sasha has not one, but two birthday parties on Saturday. Oh, to be as popular as her! :)
And that is what has been happening this week in the Farm!
I have to say that when I was over on Saturday and reading in the family room I just could not get used to that air freshener squirting. Every couple of minutes I would forget about it and then jump when it went off. I am not a big fan...

I knew you wouldn't like that and I forgot to turn it off! It was going off every 9 minutes...ha!
