I am happy to say that I am feeling good for the last day of 2010. We got home from the Minnesota Christmas Extravaganza on Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning, three of the four of us were sick with the flu. Lucky Sasha, she escaped it. I have spent the majority of the past two days laying either on the floor, the couch, or my bed, which has made for some interesting parenting. Thankfully Sasha has been doing amazing at entertaining herself and (not really thankfully) Alexis has been sleeping or resting off her illness, so it has been pretty low key around here. Sasha has been watching an ungodly amount of Beauty and the Beast though, which was one of her Christmas gifts from us. Nate and I did look at the bright side of getting the flu right after Christmas, which was that it is a great way to detox from all that Christmas food. Feeling like you are going to vomit sure breaks the habit of eating a Christmas cookie every 15 minutes like we were doing in MN.
Anyway, back to the Minnesota Christmas Extravaganza. Every year I have high hopes of getting an adorable Christmas picture. Every year my hopes are dashed. This picture was taken very quickly right before we left for the Christmas Eve service and it is the best I've got. Alexis and Sasha are with their cousin Charlie and for some odd reason my childhood teddy bear made it in the picture.
Other Christmas happenings included decorating a gingerbread house...
Sledding - at least for Nate and Sasha...Lexi and I were too wimpy to handle it. (That is Joel in the background).
Looking at the crazy huge amount of snow. This is my parents' deck.
There were a few presents given...
And the girls felt the need to sit in the bin that was serving as our wrapping paper holder...
As a gift to my parents, we got professional pictures taken of them and the grandkids. Unfortunately there was really no moment when all three of the kids were in the mood to be photographed, but we got a couple decent shots.
Tomorrow we have a belated Christmas celebration with Nate's family so I will be sure to document that as well. No big plans for tonight other than just being happy that we aren't sick anymore. I predict that we might be sleeping by the time it turns 2011!
Oh that flu!! So bummed to have missed seeing you guys over the break! Glad you're all feeling better. Happy New Year!
