Both girls are in the cutest stages lately. Sasha is absolutely loving school. We have noticed over the past couple weeks that she just seems so much happier. I think she likes having a life beyond me! Nate took Sasha on her first school field trip last week and I gave him the mission of observing how Sasha was interacting with the other kids as well as some other dynamics. He gave a positive review and said that when the person giving the instructions about apple picking asked how it was done, Sasha raised her hand and gave the answer. I just knew that she would behave better when I wasn’t around!
Sasha is also super into imaginary thinking and role playing. And lucky me, I get to be the actor in many of her plays throughout the day. It all started a month or so ago when Nate told Sasha the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. Rather than internalizing the part of the story that Nate wanted her to, (stop calling us for no reason), Sasha just became obsessed with wolves. Now every day we do countless wolf stories and have many discussions on whether or not wolves live in Farmington Hills. She loves any story with wolves, princesses, etc. and asks to hear Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs all the time. I figure since I am telling stories, I can make them up any way I want, so I add in little things I want her to hear (“the beautiful princess had brown skin and gorgeous short, curly hair!”) and my own little morality lessons like how the princess always needs to listen to the King and Queen! :)
And little Alexis is blossoming every day. Her personality is coming out so much now and she is talking a lot more. Her main words right now are “puppy,” “woof,” “duck,” “quack,” “moo,” and “kitty.” Last night Nate taught her “sky” and “tree.” She is becoming such a big girl now and wants to do what the older kids are doing. Yesterday we were at a friend’s house and she just kept following Sasha and her friend around the house, mimicking whatever they were doing. Her favorite toys right now are the animal train and the fridge farm, two things that were passed down from Sasha, and two things Sasha didn't have much interest in. It's nice to see them played with!
The other thing Lex loves is a cup of milk. Seriously, she will drink milk all day and I have to admit that sometimes I let her. I love seeing her so happy with such a simple thing. She goes right to the fridge and points and lets us know that is what she wants. She is a determined little girl who has her own ideas and doesn't really let up until she gets what is on her mind. She is also really big into putting her shoes on and going places. She can sense when we are getting ready to leave the house, because she usually brings her shoes to us to put on for her. Sometimes she just gets bored and tells us she wants to go outside by bringing us her shoes! Oh, this little girlie is not going to enjoy winter when we are cooped up in the house. (Me either for that matter!)
So that is what the chicas are up to these days!
Great pictures! One thing I love about living closer to you guys this year is getting to see the girls grow up - I can't believe how fast they are growing and changing!! I love hearing Lexi start to talk too....it's neat hearing how her voice sounds :)
