Well it appears my coupon series wore me out! After a very hectic couple of days, I am experiencing a small bit of peace right now. Nate came home from work and took the girls to his parents' house for dinner and I am home because I have to leave for a work appointment in a few minutes. I am sad to miss out on some yummy pulled pork and law school tales from Julianne, but I am loving this quiet house. Sasha has been so high energy lately. It is go, go, go for her, all the time. She is quiet for one hour every day, and that is when she is in her room napping. Other than that sweet time, it is constant chatter, questions, activity, and all around busyness. And there is no "off" button on that girl. Don't get me wrong, I love her and all her personality, but she tires me out, big time. She actually seems to have gotten more energy as she has gotten older.
This afternoon Sasha and I went in Lexi's room to get her out of her nap and we all sat on a chair and played and cuddled for awhile. Although there were many kicks and hair pulls and uncomfortable moments, I kept them both on my lap because every now and then it would get still and we would all just cuddle. And it occurred to me that if Alexis was my only child, all we would do all day is sit and cuddle. That girl loves her blanket, her fingers, and her mama. Sasha would never allow long term stillness, but if it were just Lexi and I, we just might never leave that chair.
I am thankful for my cuddler and for my crazy on the go girl.
Don't worry Heidi...I will fill you in on all the exciting things I am learning next time! :) Glad you could get some quiet time though - Sasha is sure full of questions right now! Hope her preschool teacher is ready for her!
