I'm reverting back to an old nickname for Sasha because Aunt Lora and Uncle Joel are in town and that is one of their faves. Yes, did you hear that great news???? J & L are here for the summer! If you want to learn what all the excitement is about, read about their life and see their cute faces here.
Anyway, Nate and I went to Vegas (oh, yes we did!) last week and left the girlies at home with my parents. I may write more about the trip later, but being gone from our little ones has inspired a new love and appreciation for them. I think that is what always happens when you take a little break from your kiddos! Anyway, Alexis is walking with much more ease and Sasha seems to have upped her vocabulary and conversation skills a bit in just the few days we were gone. Sasha had a couple good comments that need to be recorded here. Tonight we had a car drive just the two of us and we were talking about being kind to everyone. (Sadly, this stemmed from an episode last week where there was some unkindness going on with some friends). Sasha said she just wanted to love me and me only, and I told her that what we really wanted was to have a huge heart with lots of room to love everyone. And she said "But I don't have room. My stomach is full!"
Then as Nate was putting her down to bed, they somehow got on the topic of where Sasha was before she was born. She wanted to know where she was even before she was in T's tummy. Nate told her that she was with God. Sasha asked how God put her in T's tummy. Nate was not going to go THERE, so he just said "God just put you there." And she said, "But there isn't a door! How did he get me in?"
She also said I am the "best mommy in the whole wide world!" Guess the love and appreciation after an absence works both ways! :)
:) The girls have grown so much since Christmas. We loved seeing them and all the new things that they're up to these days! Can't wait to see you all again in just a couple weeks. Thanks again for always being our first stop stateside!
