A lot of things were happening a year ago, but one of them was that Sasha became potty trained. You can read about it here and here. Even though the process was relatively painless to move into underwear, Sasha still wore diapers anytime she was sleeping. I figured it would only be a couple months until she didn't need those anymore, right? Wrong. One year later and she happily puts on a diaper for her nap and for bed. And depending on her mood, she will purposely poop in that diaper, just because. Let's just say I have been sick of this for quite a while, but I have been trying to be patient. I've been telling myself that she'll tire of it eventually. But I feel completely ridiculous diapering this big girl who clearly has an understanding of what is going on and clearly needs a little push in the no diaper direction. So we decided to remove the diapers this weekend, on the advice of this lady, who is a smart one. We told Sasha that we are DONE with diapers. I took them out of her room and also took out her changing pad (which she was way too big for anyway). During her first nap, predictably, she went #1, but also predictably, she did not go #2. At night, again predictably, she went #1 and not #2. Today's nap...completely dry. There was major celebration that included cookies, and I think she was actually pretty proud of herself. We'll see what happens tonight, but I am prepared to do a lot of laundry until we get this down!
She sounded so proud when she called yesterday afternoon! I am so happy for your sake too....especially since she ended on Friday with a nice stinky #2 for you to change! :)
