Not that she wasn't already a part of our family, but it was made official today...Alexis' adoption was finalized this morning! It was very weird going to court as a client instead of a caseworker, but fun. Sasha's adoption was finalized through the mail because we used a different county for hers, so this was a new experience for my fam. Alexis did awesome despite being pretty tired at the time of the hearing. Sasha on the other hand was a bit, shall we say unpleasant, during the hearing, although for the hour we waited before she ran up and down the halls with some other kids who were having hearings as well, and she had a blast doing that. It was really cool that some of my family who don't live here could be here to be a part of it, along with Nate's family. Here are a couple pictures...

Right after the hearing was over, Sasha said "Alexis is adopted!"
I'll be back soon with lots of stories about our time so far with my parents, Cali Allie and Aaron!
Yay! Congrats on everything being official! It is a weird experience to have the court recognize what you already have for months. Special time too, though, for sure! :-)

Congratulations to you and your family. You don't know me, I found your blog through your sister's facebook page. I just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration to me. My husband and I recently suffered a miscarriage and one of the things that has got me through this dark time has been you. Reading about how you have grown your family through "untradtional" means and the amazing daughters that you have to show for it has given me hope that I can have a family and be a mother someday. I may never be able to thank you enough for that.
