So I think I shared on here before that we were not using the word "sister" with Sasha until we knew the release hearing was over and Alexis would permenantly be in our family. We never thought it would take 6 weeks for our hearing to happen though, so this made it pretty tough. Not on our end at home or with our family and close friends, but with all of the other well-wishers that we saw nearly every day. People LOVE to say "Now you're a big sister!" or "How nice you have a little sister now!" For most of the past 6 weeks, we tried to brush it off really quickly and explain (secretly over Sasha's head) that we aren't using that word yet. Wow, did people think we were weirdos.
In the past week, I have just let it go and not said a word, since I think we were being pretty confusing for Sasha...even though I tried not to let her hear certain conversations, she hears way more than I give her credit for. So yesterday was a huge day for us in that we could finally say SISTER! Sasha was very into it. We had planned on going out for ice cream last night, but J and her mom and brother came over for awhile after the hearing and the evening just got away from us. So tonight was our big ice cream night, and we decided to tell Sasha it was "Sister Ice Cream." We invited Nate's parents to join us on the Sister outing. Nate's mom is the one holding Alexis in the first shot.
This is Lexi's usual face...like "Oh boy, what is this girl going to do to me now???"
Alexis definitely had some ice cream on her after this kiss!
How fun! It should make Grandpa K happy to see the joy in Sasha's eyes with her ice cream cone in hand. Looks like he's going to have another ice cream buddy at the lake :)
It cracks me up how chill Alexis always is! Her face is great in those pictures.
Last thing...Sasha's hair looks super cute. I don't know if I've seen her rock that style before. I love it. Good work you talented and creative Mom! :)

I can't wait to have sister ice cream with ALL the girls (Heidi, Sasha, Alexis, Lora, Michelle, Mom, and I) at the lake this summer! Maybe we'll take Charlie along too. Woo hoo!
